While in Yellowstone National Park, my husband and I hiked in the Lamar Valley. I had my camera up, trying to get a good shot of some buffalo. My husband was uptight and kept yelling at me that I was getting too close and I needed to come back. At one point, his insistence that I come back down to the trail was undeniable, so I picked up my tripod and headed back down the hillside. It was a very good thing that I did because off to my left, a whole lot of bison started stampeding towards where I had just been standing. It was amazing watching these big animals run across the valley. The stampede pushed us off the trail further down into the valley, which was a tad scary, but it was the highlight of our trip. I fell in love with the bison on this trip.

I am from a very small town in Central Maine. I have been married for over 32 years and have four grown children and four grandchildren. While I love photography, I do not have a lot of time to enjoy it. I work full-time and help with daycare for two of my grandchildren. When I have time, I take full advantage and I am usually gone for an entire day between travel and the photography. For many years, I kayaked in the same three ponds in Litchfield, Maine.
