During our search for bear in Lake Clark National Park, we saw a lot of men fishing. These particular fishermen had no idea that just a few moments before, there was a huge brown bear about 100 yards away from them. We were sitting in our pontoon boat, watching a rather large brown bear swimming nearby. He was very leery of the voices he heard around the corner, and would frequently look and listen in their direction. One of these fishermen sneezed, and that bear hightailed it for the woods. I guess there is security in numbers in the Alaska wilderness.

I am from a very small town in Central Maine. I have been married for over 32 years and have four grown children and four grandchildren. While I love photography, I do not have a lot of time to enjoy it. I work full-time and help with daycare for two of my grandchildren. When I have time, I take full advantage and I am usually gone for an entire day between travel and the photography. For many years, I kayaked in the same three ponds in Litchfield, Maine.
