This was my favorite bear in my bear viewing tour in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. She was taking a nap on a small sand dune when we approached her. She rolled around on her back and yawned, not bothered by us at all. Everyone on the boat was laughing at her. I could have taken photographs of her all day.

I am from a very small town in Central Maine. I have been married for over 32 years and have four grown children and four grandchildren. While I love photography, I do not have a lot of time to enjoy it. I work full-time and help with daycare for two of my grandchildren. When I have time, I take full advantage and I am usually gone for an entire day between travel and the photography. For many years, I kayaked in the same three ponds in Litchfield, Maine. About three years ago, I started to get bored. I wanted more.
