While in Alaska, my husband and I visited Lake Clark National Park. While in the park, we saw many bear either fishing or making their way to their favorite fishing hole. Whenever we found bears fishing, seagulls were not too far away waiting for their leftovers. This cub took offense to their presence and kept chasing them off. This seagull was having no part of it. I guess he was more hungry than scared.
Comprised of 4 million acres on the Alaska Peninsula in southwest Alaska, Lake Clark is one of the nation's most remote national park units. Established by the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (ANILCA) on December 2, 1980, the park and preserve support an ongoing tradition of subsistence culture in a volcanic and partly glaciated landscape containing habitat for wilderness dependent species of fish and wildlife.

I am from a very small town in Central Maine. I have been married for over 32 years and have four grown children and four grandchildren. While I love photography, I do not have a lot of time to enjoy it. I work full-time and help with daycare for two of my grandchildren. When I have time, I take full advantage and I am usually gone for an entire day between travel and the photography. For many years, I kayaked in the same three ponds in Litchfield, Maine.
